Young Severus (16 as I remember) is running in the womping willow tunnel the fastest he can to save his life from the werewolf Remus Lupin is turning into. I don't know HOW James managed to save Snape's neck/ass/life and I REALLY WANT TO KNOW AAAHHHH!
when I think about it Sirius's STUPID prank could not only cost Severus' life but also Remus' as they could have put him down as a wild werewolf!yep like that! >8C
He might have been 15; Sirius was 16 at the time but we don't know if this took place before or after Sev's 16th birthday in January of their fifth year.

It is kind of muddled, isn't it? A lot of people assume he turned into Prongs, but 1) he might not have known how yet (it's stated they figured that out in fifth year and this could be before that); 2) the size and shape of the tunnel seems to conform a bit to JKR's narrative needs, but any way you slice it it's a bad place to try to squeeze a stag; and 3) then Severus would have known James, at least, was an Animagus, wouldn't he? (although I suppose he might have blanked it out in PTSD).
and I REALLY WANT TO KNOW AAAHHHH!

INORITE? Some friend. Sirius was (is) just reckless and totally lacked forethought, even more than your average 16-year-old boy.
I'd like to know that, too. He came far enough to see Lupin the werewolf; if he made it that far, I really don't think he would go any further, with or without James' presence. JKR says that James "pulled him back" or something like that, but I don't understand how James' pulling was of any assistance. I'm pretty sure he was able to run back on his own, as you wonderfully presented it here!
yep...In human form what could James do?Then again probably Snape knew he turned into a stag thus he got angsty with his patronus taking the form of a doe?then again why didn't he tell Albus?b/c Remus says in POA that Albus did not know they turned animagus to help him...dunno... Glad you liked the drawing!
Thank you!C: I guess the prank takes place after Snape's worst memory...so it's after the end of their fifth year..and they've mastered animagi by then...So he could've turned into prongs but why didn't Snape tell Albus about it?(I think he knew about the prongs and that was why he got angsty when he saw his patronus...)
